Overview

This guide discusses how to create scanning and reporting users in beSECURE.


Creating a new scanning user

As a scanning user, you have the ability to create additional scanning users by using the account profile feature. When a new user is set up the option to either create a new account profile or select an existing account profile is required. To create a scanning user you must choose the existing scanning user account profile.

Note: although the option to create a new profile is available, it will only allow a new reporting user account profile to be created).

To create a new scanning user in beSECURE, do the following:

  1. Log in to beSECURE.
  2. In the upper-left corner of the Home page, select DevOps.
  3. Select Admin > Accounts > List.
  4. Select the Newbutton.
  5. In the Username box, enter the desired username for the user.
  6. In the Password box, enter a password for the user, or select the Generate a random passwordbutton.
  7. Select Notify user of his account details and password if you want the user to receive an email with their new password (once the user signs in, they can change their password).
  8. In the Security Profile box, select a profile.
  9. In the Account Profile box, select Scanning User Default.
  10. In the Language box, select the preferred language for the user.
  11. In the Timezone box, select the user's local time zone.
  12. In the Contact box, select an existing contact.
  13. Select Create.


The permissions assigned to the new user determine the level of access for the user in beSECURE. For scanning users, there are permissions options you can assign to the new user that provide custom access to organization objects (Scans, reports, user groups etc.) depending on their needs.


Creating a new reporting user

As a reporting user, when a new user is created, the option to create a new account profile or select an existing account profile is required. Reporting users can only see scan results, not the scan's settings.


To create a new reportin user in beSECURE, do the following:

  1. Log in to beSECURE.
  2. In the upper-left corner of the Home page, select DevOps.
  3. Select Admin > Accounts > List.
  4. Select the Newbutton.
  5. In the Username box, enter the desired username for the user.
  6. In the Password box, enter a password for the user, or select the Generate a random passwordbutton.
  7. Select Notify user of his account details and password if you want the user to receive an email with their new password (once the user signs in, they can change their password).
  8. In the Security Profile box, select a profile.
  9. In the Account Profile box, select Reporting.
  10. In the Language box, select the preferred language for the user.
  11. In the Timezone box, select the user's local time zone.
  12. In the Contact box, select an existing contact.


The permissions assigned to the new user determine the level of access for the user in beSECURE. For reporting users, the only permission available is the ability to the scan results for the assigned organization.
